Simonne McClinton
Owner: The Green Burro, M'Coul's Pub

I'm Simonne Ritchy McClinton. I grew up in Greensboro where I went to Kiser Junior High and Grimsley High School. I left in 1989 to attend UNC at Chapel Hill, and thought I'd never come back. I got a double major in Political Science and RTVMP, and decided I'd go to Los Angeles for the next phase in my life.
I spent the next 7 years working in television and motion pictures, mostly in writing departments. I bounced from LA to Salt Lake City, back to LA then to San Diego. In 2000, I moved back to Greensboro with my husband, Greg, who is also from Greensboro, and we began building my pub.
I have been very active in downtown Greensboro and am a member of many committees. I think it's important to be involved in the things that involve you. I always vote.
I am an optimist, sometimes I don't know how, but mostly I just don't know how not to be. I have three precious children who make everything more delightful, more beautiful, more important. I love to read, to write, to watch my children play, to have conversations with my husband, my job.
Sean Coon and I started this blog, Hamburger Square, because we thought it would be a nice way to build community, to get people talking to each other, and so I could share what a unique and beautiful corner of which I have the pleasure of being a part. Cheers!
